Why You Should take MORE Risks in Life (and how).
It's Worth it.

The Breakdown
Hey fam!
DEEP DIVE
I used to feel scared about trying new things and hated taking risks. Then I took the BIGGEST risk of my life...

About to jump out of a plane at 13,000 feet. Nervous is an understatement.
I used to feel stuck and watch life pass by. Trying new things and taking risks wasn't in my nature.
Instead, I felt comfortable playing it safe in my own bubble. I shied away from trying out new experiences because I felt way too scared of failing.
However, I woke up one day and wanted to start living a more interesting life because from ages 20-24, I hadn’t created any lifelong memories. So, after hearing about a friend skydiving in South Africa, I decided I wanted to skydive for my 25th birthday.
Bit dramatic, I know.
These small steps can build your confidence and help you grow without overwhelming you.
Not trying new things robs you of memorable experiences and true growth.
It’s not just about missing out on fun; it’s about regretting the chances you didn’t take.
Each time you play it safe, you chip away at your self-trust.
So let's see how you can change that.
5-Step Strategy
Understand your current situation
Here are three things I asked myself:
- How do I currently feel about trying new things?
- What is holding me back (limiting beliefs)?
- Are these beliefs REALLY true?
These 3 questions set up the foundation for living a better life.
2. Write out who you want to become
This step is all about:
- Writing out an ideal version of yourself (the more detail, the better)
- Visualising the future and the possibilities that come with it
Writing is the most powerful way of letting your thoughts and worries come out.
3. Identify the gap between your current and future self
This is where the magic starts. Ask yourself:
- What must I do to become that ideal, future self?
- What bad habits/thoughts are stopping me getting there?
- What good habits/thoughts can I start to get closer to my ideal self?

The euphoria you feel after taking a successful risk is awesome!
Accept that failure is PART of the journey
This step isn't easy, we've been wired to avoid failure at all costs.
To change this, do these 2 things.
- Reframe failure as a lesson to grow from.
- Build confidence with small, manageable risks.Take Action!
A good plan means nothing unless you execute on it.
Here's what helped me start taking action:
- Break a goal/objective down to the simplest next action
- Block off time to work on that next action
You don't need fancy tools or systems to start.Taking Action
You don’t need to go skydiving to start taking risks. For example, you could:
Try a new hobby: Join a local class or group.
Speak up: Share your ideas in a meeting or with friends.
Change your routine: Do something different in your daily schedule.
Taking more risks in life will force you to try new things, get out your comfort zone and become a WAY more interesting person.
Landing felt sensational and like I conquered the skies.
The sky is NOT the limit for me now!
I hope you can start taking action and become a more interesting person from today. There's no down-side to taking manageable risks in your life.
I’d love to hear from you: What risks have you taken recently?
TIPS & TRICKS
TAKE ACTION TODAY
Start Small: Pick one small thing you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t → It could be as simple as cooking a new recipe or doing a workout.
Set a Mini Goal: Choose a small, manageable goal related to your fear → If you’re afraid of public speaking, start by speaking up in a small meeting.
Reflect and Celebrate: After trying something new, take a moment to reflect on how it felt and celebrate your effort, no matter the outcome.
